11 September 2009

Hello, the summer holidays are over and we could have done with some more sun, but hopefully you have enjoyed sufficient Butlers cheese?!

Welcome to those that we met

A quick hello to those of you that have joined our email list having met us at a show over the summer. It has been great to get so much direct feedback about our cheeses over recent months and we do hope that you enjoy learning more about a small Lancashire cheesemaker that is never short of enthusiasm for cheese!

NEW! Butlers cheese shop opens its online doors

Jane has received lots of calls from Butlers cheese fans unable to find a local source for our cheeses. So we decided to create an online shop allowing you to find all of our cheeses wherever you are in the country, whenever you want to find them.

Unlike many other online cheese shops, there is NO minimum order and we have worked to keep the postage cost as low as we possibly can for you. Please let us know if you think our shop will be of use to you, either as a treat for yourself or as a gift for that “impossible to buy for” loved one!

You can go to the shop by clicking here, or by following the link from our website.

Fancy some FREE cheese?
Simply dive into our brand new cheese shop (click here!) and then reply to this email, telling us the answers to these questions:
What cheeses comprise The Cheese Selection?
How big (in kg) is a whole Blacksticks Blue?
We will select five lucky winners at random on 25 September and send them some Butlers cheeses.

Gourmet break winners enjoy Lancashire
From left: winners Gail and Mark Errington with Gillian Hall from Butlers
Remember the "Gourmet Break for 2" that we gave away back in March? Well here are Mark and Gail Errington enjoying their lovely prize. The couple from London travelled up on Tuesday 18 August to spend the night at Northcote Manor, even bumping into Great British Food finalist Nigel Haworth! They visited Butlers on Wednesday seeing just how much enthusiasm we put into our cheesemaking and meeting members of the Butler family. After a lovely lunch and afternoon at The Longridge Restaurant, the Erringtons headed south armed with ample cheese. "This has been a memorable trip for us and we have definitely fallen in love with Lancashire. Being foodies ourselves we had no idea what the county had to offer" said Mark.
And finally...a BIG thank you to everyone that recently replied by email to our questions. It really is a huge help when you can spare us a couple of minutes like this, and allows us to develop in the way that you want us to. We got some great responses which have been thoroughly poured over and considered, so thank you from everyone at Butlers.
If you get a moment, please do tell us what you think of our cheeses, only then can we make things even better!
