Soft Blacksticks Cheeses

Whilst the Blacksticks name was born with the creation of a blue cheese, the same values surround our handmade soft rinded cheeses. British made, either with our own goats milk or milk produced close to the dairy, these individual cheeses are skilfully crafted and matured to ensure that they reach you at the optimum point in their lives. We think that you will agree with us that they are definitely worthy of the Blacksticks name!

A most individual small round cheese, handmade using the milk of a particular herd of Guernsey cows in Cheshire. Soft and smooth, rather like a Camembert, Guernsey Gold emerged from Butler’s Ravens Oak Dairy. Cutting through the pale velvety rind reveals a most attractive golden coloured centre, entirely characteristic of Guernsey milk. Naturally better balanced in Omega 3 than other milks, Guernsey cows milk is also suitable for people with lactose intolerance.

An outstanding goats cheese handmade at Butler’s Ravens Oak Dairy, Kidderton Ash is log shaped and features a delicate creamy flavour. Sprinkled with charcoal ash prior to maturing, a fabulous visual effect can be appreciated when the cheese is sliced.
The contrast of textures can be enjoyed from the soft white coat, the firmer charcoal ash layer and then the soft luscious goats cheese in the centre. The velvety texture of the cheese when young becomes creamier as it matures.

A smooth and soft goats cheese, made in small rounds rather like a Camembert. Handmade in small batches at Butler’s Ravens Oak Dairy, this distinctive cheese offers a subtle flavour of almonds and white wine, developing a greater depth as the cheese naturally matures.
