With home made Granary Bread, on a family picnic
Mashed into a lovely stick of celery
No gimmicky cooking methods or bizarre ingredients are required. Just take 3 simple but delicious ingredients - pasta, Blacksticks Blue and the humble leek and you'll soon have a quick, tasty and inexpensive supper dish. Cook the pasta (al dente) and while it's cooking, gently fry some thinly sliced leeks. When both are cooked, gently mix together, drizzle with olive oil and finish the dish by adding some softly crumbled Blacksticks Blue. Serve to an appreciative and much loved other half and this really is the best way to eat 'the' best cheese!!
I like Blacksticks White crumbled over roasted vegetables and baked for 10 minutes until it's melted and delicious! I also like it over pasta for an extra kick.

crumbled over chips with balsamic vinegar
we like it with crusty bread and quince jelly - all handmade of course!
With your fingers, at any time of day and preferably alone, so you don’t have to share!
Rolled up inside a good salami with jalapeno peppers
in a warm bacon sandwich
melted over some boiled and halved baby new potatoes and some olives (i prefer black but any olives will do!)
For a milder taste mix Blacksticks Blue with some soft cream cheese (with herbs if liked) or crème fraiche.
There is nothing better than a lovely piece of fillet steak, stuffed with Blacksticks blue, and cooked medium rare so that the cheese oozes out when the steak is into with a sharp steak knife. Try it. You won't eat steak any other way again.

The number one, tip-top tastiest way to eat Blacksticks Blue is to fry it or grill it, just enough to get its exterior a good golden brown. There's no other cheese that I've seen that grills up as nicely as Blacksticks. A light, golden-brown crust bubbles up on the outside of the cheese; the interior gets soft, not quite runny, but very delicious. Grilling Blacksticks Blue is hardly difficult. Simply slice some of the cheese into half-inch thick pieces, and then lay them into a hot skillet that's been brushed with just a hint of olive oil. You don't need much oil--in fact you can even go without any at all if that's your preference. Leave the cheese in the pan until it's lightly browned on its down side, about two to three minutes. Carefully flip the slices and fry them on the other side. When the cheese is golden brown on both sides, it's ready to eat.
On Melba Toast with a couple of prawns on top.. yum
Made a Blacksticks White risotto for a lighter creamy taste, the kids loved it!
