A good double Gloucester should be golden, rich and buttery with a mellow, satisfying depth of flavour. And when it’s good – it’s amazing! Our double Gloucester is a previous Supreme Champion award winner at the largest cheese show in the world – The Nantwich International Cheese Show. We mature it for around 5 months so it develops lots of character as well as those lovely buttery flavours. Wonderful with a crisp, sharp apple and a glass of West Country cider.
Butlers Farmhouse double Gloucester is another of our open vat cheeses that are hand bound in muslin for careful maturation in our cheese store on the farm in Inglewhite. A class act with lots of flavour but rounded and mild enough for a wide range of cheese fans young and young at heart.
