Q : Ewe's cheese
From: Ann, Bolton 18/12/2008
Is there any chance of producing a variety of sheep's cheese? Afterall, there are plenty of sheep on the moors around Lancashire.
Thanks for the lovely cheeses you already produce. I am a great fan of local cheeses and believe they are as good and often better than other international cheeses. We need to believe again in our own produce!

Hi Ann, it's funny you should say that! We recently launched a blue sheep's milk cheese called Blacksticks Velvet in Marks and Spencer for a month. It was extremely popular and the only reason it is not still there is due to the seasonality of the milk. However we aim to produce some more Blacksticks Velvet in the spring and will work to make the cheese more regularly available over time. So do keep your eyes peeled!

Our cheeses sell very well in the locality so I do think that more and more people are looking at what is available on their doorstep and most certainly in this country. Couldn't agree with you more.
