Cheese FAQs
How long can I store cheese for?
In order to enjoy your cheese at its best, please store it in the fridge as soon as you receive it. We label each piece with a best before date which relates to the unopened cheese. Once unwrapped, we would recommend storing it in wax paper, foil or film. Hard regional cheeses should store quite happily in this way for a week. Softer cheeses such as our goats cheeses and Blacksticks are best eaten up within three days to enjoy them at their peak.
What is the best temperature to serve cheese at?
It is generally recommended to eat cheese at room temperature (allow the cheese to warm up for half an hour) to experience the full flavour. So long as you enjoy it, we think the way you eat it is up to you!
Do I eat the coat on your goats and brie type cheeses?
Yes you do. Some people habitually cut it off but what a waste as it is part of the experience!
Do I eat the rind on your regional cheeses?
No not on these. The rind serves an excellent purpose during maturing and helps to deliver the great cheese inside.
Can I freeze your cheeses?
Cheese is generally best eaten and not frozen! Freezing cheese alters the texture and it will never be the same as the real thing. We would not recommend freezinf any of our cheeses.
Can I cook with your cheeses?
All of our cheeses can be eaten just as they are or used in a wide variety of snacks and recipes. The options are endless!
