Packaging, Delivery and Terms

How much does delivery cost?
We charge £7.50* to deliver a box up to 20kg in weight (which is quite a bit of cheese!) Aiming to keep this cost to you as low as possible, this basically covers all postage and packaging costs. We use a next day delivery service to get the cheese to you as quickly as possible.

*this cost is for mainland UK deliveries. Please contact us for a price if you live in the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Isle of Scilly, Northern Ireland or Isle of Man.

At present we only deliver to the UK.

How long does it take?
Usually, we will make up your order the day after we receive it, unless you request a specific future date. Orders can be despatched for the following day if specifically requested and if the order is received BEFORE 12 noon. We can send cheese to arrive from Tuesday to Friday. If there are any problems with your order we will contact you and we will also let you know when your order is to be dispatched. We use a 24 hour delivery service and would remind you to get your cheese delivered to an address where somebody will be able to put it straight into the fridge. The courier WILL require a signature, otherwise he will take the parcel back to the depot where it will not be refrigerated!

Please note that one order will be delivered to one address. If you require delivery to two addresses then please place two orders.

How is it packaged?
We use a sturdy white card box, packing materials such as wood wool and ice packs to keep the cheese cool in transit. We want you to like the look of your cheese delivery in addition to liking the taste of it. Please ensure you recycle our packaging! All gift boxes will include a gift card, showing your personal message and we will of course keep the prices out of the box!

How can I pay?
Our online shopping system allows you to securely pay for your purchase by credit or debit card. Please follow the instructions on the screen as you go through the payment system. If you have any further queries about payment, please contact us.

Cheese sizes
The sizes we suggest for each cheese are approximate. Never a fixed size product, cutting from two different handmade cheeses can result in two different sized pieces. We will always try to be as accurate as possible and if one piece in your order is a little bit light you can be assured that another will be a little bit heavy to compensate!

Availability
Very occasionally a cheese will not be available to fulfil your order. If this is the case and if you have ticked to accept substitutes, we will add a similar cheese to an equal or greater value. If you have chosen not to accept substitutes then we will leave this cheese off your order.

What we ask of you
We want to get your cheese to you as quickly and as perfectly as possible. But we do need your help in order to achieve this. Please make sure that your address is ENTIRELY ACCURATE, especially the POSTCODE. That way the delivery driver cannot blame the address! Please also give us an accurate contact number for the DAY OF DELIVERY. If your neighbour is to take in your delivery then that is your neighbour’s number. If it is your work address then perhaps that is your mobile number? That way if the driver is having trouble finding you, he has a number to call. And last but not least, please make sure that there is someone at the address to receive the cheese and put it into a fridge. The driver will need a signature in order to deliver the parcel. We cannot be held responsible if your cheese is not delivered due to a wrong address or due to nobody being available to sign for the parcel. If you ask for your cheese to be left somewhere that is not refrigerated, we cannot be held responsible for it from that point onwards.

Do think carefully if the cheese is being sent as a gift too. When are they likely to be in? Is a work address best? You might choose to let them know that something is coming to make sure that they will be in.

Returns
We make every effort to get your cheese to you in good condition. Should you find, however, that your order is not in a satisfactory condition, or has been damaged in transit, we will need you to notify us within 24 hours and we will do everything that we can to put it right. We may also require you to send the cheese back to us.
